The attic is one of the largest sources of potential heat loss in a home. A good combination of products is to spray foam straight to the bottom floor of an attic to get a vapour barrier and then top it off with blown in insulation to get up to code.

Insulation that is “blown in” into attics with a machine and hose. The most common type used in attics is fibreglass insulation. Having an R-value of around 3.5 per inch, it takes around 17” of blown in insulation to reach the current code of R-60 in home attics.

Eave Vents (opening under the eaves) – combined with the Roof or Gable Vents create positive movement of air out of your attic, allowing air to continuously flow in one and out the other.
